The class in the photo below looks difficult, doesn’t it?
It’s actually not. I find aerial yoga to be easier than mat yoga classes. And it’s a lot of fun too! I’ve taken 3 or 4 aerial yoga foundation classes at Om Factory in New York City and have really enjoyed myself.
Aerial yoga still maintains the flow and sequences of a typical mat yoga class, but you use the fabric to support your movements. There are even moments when you find yourself inverted in mid-air without much difficulty! My favorite part is at the end of class when we practice Savasana in the hammock. It’s incredibly soothing and you feel like your wrapped up in a comfortable cocoon. All in all, it’s an excellent stress reliever.
