I Tried It: DIY Foaming Hand Soap

I’m big on DIY projects, especially when it comes to health and beauty (remember the honey mask?).  I’m also a bit of a germaphobe, so I tend to go through bottles of hand soap at lightening speed.  After seeing all the money and waste that went into buying & tossing soap bottles, I decided there had to be a better, more eco-friendly option.  I tinkered with a couple different recipes until I finally crafted my ideal foaming hand soap.

Lauren’s Recipe for DIY Foaming Hand Soap

Ingredients:
Purified Water
Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Soap
Thieves Household Cleaner (or an essential oil of your choice)
Reusable Foaming Soap Dispenser (I adore this one)

How to:
Fill your soap dispenser approx 1/5 full with Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap.  Add one cap-full of the Thieves Household Cleaner.  (If you are using essential oils, add a few drops until it’s scented to your liking).  Fill to the top with purified water.

Ta da!  You’re all done.  It’s so easy, simple, and affordable.  I personally enjoy using Thieves because it smells terrific and has antiseptic properties.  To learn more about Thieves essential oil blend, check out this article.
