Moroccan argan oil flooded the beauty market a few years ago. From shampoos to body lotions, it seemed argan oil was latest miracle product and its popularity hasn’t seemed to die down since. Unfortunately, many of the products claiming to use the oil are also filled with parabens, silicone, artificial fragrances, and other not-so-good-for-you chemicals. Why buy products containing trace amounts of argan oil when you can use it in its purest form?
Over the past couple years I’ve incorporated 100% organic argan oil into my beauty routine and have been pleasantly surprised by its benefits. I originally bought it to nourish the dry ends of my hair, but quickly found other uses for it. Before I knew it, I was applying it to my face as well as my hands, cuticles, feet, and any other areas prone to dry skin. Argan oil is, hands down, one of the best natural products I’ve found for skin care. The oil absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. I know putting oil on your face might seem a bit scary, but trust me when I say it’ll leave you with smooth, radiant skin.
All around, argan oil is a winner. Some argan oils are pricier than others, so be sure to comparison shop (but make sure its 100% pure!). My favorite is Julep’s Elixir Organic Argan Oil at approx $20 for 1 fl oz if you are a Julep Maven. I’ve also used Pura d’or Pure Organic Argan Oil, which is a steal at $22 for 4 fl oz.
